Curry Goat and both chicken + beef patty

Hmmm, why have I not written a review about Patty Time before? I've been coming here since they first opened their doors. It seems like so long ago.
Their patties are one of the best in Toronto, meaty, moist, and flavourful, with a great crust! These guys know how to make a great Jamaican patty!
Their cooked food is also darn good. Again, full of flavour. On this trip, I ordered the Curry Goat and it was cooked perfectly tender and full of flavour. It had just the right amount of meat (very few bones), and gravy to go with the rice, corn, and tomatoes.
Other dishes worthy of mention (from past trips) include the Oxtail, and Jerk Chicken. They have a fairly small menu for food but whatever they do, they do it very well.
Unfortunately, as good as the food is, not everything is perfect. The service is horrendous! On this trip, after parking (in front of the shop next door), a fellow on the curb said the patties were sold out. I didn't know who this scruffy looking person was but he came into the store after me and stepped behind the counter. Oh, he works here! Anyway, there's more to this story but this person just didn't impress me, and is responsible for the low ranking. -

I am a patty lover and I have been told by my friend that I must come here for a visit cuz their patties are out of this world! So I Finally made a trip down to Scarborough to give this a try! It was a Saturday late afternoon, lunch is over and still a few hours before dinner but there is a line up at this place! I see people ordering oxtail, patty with cocobread, and boxes of patties. I looked at the prices and it is not cheap compare to some other Jamaica places and yet, there still a line up, so I know they must be doing something right!
When it is my turn, I ordered 2 beef patties and to my surprise, I was not ask spicy or no spicy, guess they only makes one kind. When I got the patties, it was hot and fresh but I thought was...this looks like the patties I normally have, no difference. Boy...was I so wrong! The first bite was just the pastry and it blew my mind! The flanky pastry was actually has been seasoned and very tasty! Needless to say the beed filling was so good! If I had know this is that good, I would have grab a few dozen to take home!
Overall the place is bright and clean, patties are good, the reason for 4 stars was the price point and no selection on spicy level. I will definitely come back to try their other foods and grab a few dozen patties! -

Hmmm....not sure what has changed but the patties were as thick, fat or juicy as before. I really hope that I just got a bad batch as they were one of my favourite patties in the city...still good though but didn't seem the same

Flaky crust. Juicy beef filling. All that was missing was a little extra kick on the spiciness. A very good beef patty. Gotta eat it fresh.
